Required: This Policy Form must be printed, signed, and returned with the Registration Form and the Registration Fee. NMDA Policy Form Your Monthly Class Tuition is due the first week of each month. Our office manager, Mrs. Lewellyn, is at the desk during this week to assist you. If your monthly balance is not paid in full by the 15th of the month, a $5.00 late fee will be added to your account. We understand that during the course of the school year classes will be missed by students for numerous reasons. All classes can and should be made up. Ask your instructor for the appropriate class to attend. There are no refunds for missed classes. All classes at Northern Michigan Dance Academy (NMDA) teach discipline and self-confidence. Your child must be prepared for class with the proper attire and a neat and clean appearance. Hair must be secured according to the class requirements. These steps will help create an overall positive experience for your child. If the student is not prepared for class, she or he may be asked to sit and watch. The Great North provides us with unavoidable snow days. We always cancel classes if Iron Mountain or Breitung Township Schools are closed. If those schools have a two-hour delay, we cancel our morning classes. If weather becomes severe later in the day, we will cancel. Listen to WIMK, WOBE, and WIKB for cancellations. We are aware that students travel from surrounding areas and that weather can more greatly affect you. If the weather is too dangerous in your area, we encourage you to stay home and make up your class at a future date. All days that we cancel will be made up in the Spring. Our Spring Recital is optional for our students. We have always had 99% of our students participate. We order our costumes by January. A $40.00 costume deposit is due the first week of November. Costume prices range from $40.00 to $120.00. Your balance is due in January. You must tell Mrs. Lewellyn if you are unable to be in the recital so that a costume will not be ordered for you and so that you will not be responsible for purchasing it. The recital will be in June. Dates will be announced in the Fall.
